HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature)
Recreates the extreme pressure and temperature conditions found deep in the earth's mantle. A small diamond seed is placed in a carbon source and subjected to ~1,500°C and ~1.5 million PSI.
CVD (Chemical Vapour Deposition)
A diamond seed is placed in a sealed chamber filled with carbon-rich gas (usually methane). The gas is heated until carbon atoms separate and deposit onto the seed, growing the diamond layer by layer.
