How to Measure Your Ring Size at Home

Measure a Ring You Already Own

1Pick a ring you already wear comfortably on the same finger — not too tight, not loose enough to slip off.
2Lay it flat on a clean, hard surface so it sits perfectly round.
3Using a ruler with millimetre markings, measure straight across the inside of the ring — edge to edge, through the middle. This is the inner diameter.
4Take three measurements and use the average for accuracy.
5Match the inner diameter (mm) to the Indian size chart below.

Method 2

Using String or Paper

1Cut a thin strip of paper or a piece of non-stretchy string.
2Wrap it snugly around the base of the finger you want to measure.
3Mark where the strip overlaps with a pen.
4Lay the strip flat and measure the length in millimetres - this is your circumference.
5Match the circumference to the chart below.

Most popular sizes: Sizes 8–14 are the most commonly ordered in India. If you are unsure, size 10 or 11 is a good starting point for most.

Tips for Accurate Measurement

Follow these for the best results

1Measure your finger at the end of the day when it is at its largest. Fingers swell slightly throughout the day.

2Make sure the ring can slide over your knuckle. If your knuckle is significantly larger than the base of your finger, measure both and choose a size in between.

3Measure 3-4 times for accuracy and take the average.

4Avoid measuring when your hands are cold (fingers shrink) or after exercise (fingers swell).

5For wider bands (above 4mm), consider going half a size up as they fit tighter than thinner bands.
